AI use: Evidence found

Did Stellaris use generative AI?

We found source-linked indications of generative AI use for this game. Read the cited disclosures or reports for the exact scope.

This check covers generated art, writing, audio and other content, plus development tools when disclosed. Scripted enemy behavior and ordinary procedural generation do not count. Lack of evidence does not prove no AI was used.

What the sources say

  • Development workflow

During development of the 2024 DLC 'The Machine Age', the Stellaris team used text- and image-generative AI tools for ideation and to help explain designers’ intent to other developers (AI outputs used for internal ideation, not necessarily shipped verbatim). [1]

  • Content made before release

Paradox stated they used AI-generated voices and/or AI voice tooling as part of The Machine Age work and said voice models built from consenting voice actors receive royalties for lines created (i.e., pre-generated player-facing voiced lines in that DLC were produced with AI voice tooling).
